What is Aqua Guard used for?
Aqua Guard is used to protect primary dressings, incision sites,
intravenous catheters, dialysis shunts, stomas and wound protection
during hygiene measures such as showering. It is not designed for use
in the bath, hot tubs or for swimming.
How is Aqua Guard applied?
Be sure to select the correct size Aqua Guard for the wound
or device type. The product sizes listed represent the outside
dimensions. When ordering, select the Aqua Guard size that is larger
than the actual area needing coverage. For areas needing range of
motion such as knees and elbows, select the Aqua Guard product that is
one size larger than the area needing coverage.

Be sure the Aqua Guard bandage is large enough to adhere to SKIN ONLY
(not to wound, device or primary dressing).

Clean and dry area to be covered. Remove one sheet from the plastic
packaging. Remove adhesive backing from top edge, indicated by arrows.
Place the exposed adhesive above the top edge of area to be protected.
Press firmly to adhere to skin.

Remove adhesive backing from left and right sides of Aqua Guard making
sure that the exposed adhesive does not touch your dressing or device.
Press down firmly to adhere to skin. Remove adhesive backing from bottom
edge of Aqua Guard and press down firmly, completing the coverage of
your primary dressing or site.

To remove, start at either the top left or right corner and gently peel
Aqua Guard down in the same direction as hair growth, being careful not
to disturb the primary dressing or device.
Does Aqua Guard contain latex?
Aqua Guard does not contain natural latex or latex proteins.
Is Aqua Guard covered by my insurance?
Home care supplies like Aqua Guard are occasionally covered by insurance.
Check with your insurance provider about what is covered under your policy.
Does Aqua Guard replace primary dressings?
Aqua Guard is not a replacement for primary dressings. Aqua Guard is a
supplementary wound or dressing protection product. Aqua Guard is used
to protect a primary dressing or wound while showering or sponge bathing.
What is a spray barrier or S.B.?
S.B. is an abbreviation for Spray Barrier. Aqua Guard "Spray Barrier" contains
four sides of adhesive, while Aqua Guard "Standard" contains three sides of adhesive.
